Nissan carried out another demonstration of its in-development LIDAR-based advanced driver-assistance technology, which now features intersection collision avoidance. An event held at a Nissan facility here showcased the technology’s ability to perform certain automatic collision-avoidance maneuvers in the more complex environment of intersections. -
Nissan X-In-1
Nissan today unveiled its new approach to electrified powertrain development, which it calls “X-in-1”. Under the approach, core EV and e-POWER powertrain components will be shared and modularized, resulting in a 30% reduction, compared to 2019, in development and manufacturing costs by 2026. Through the X-in-1 approach, Nissan aims to further increase the competitiveness of its EV and e-POWER vehicles. Nissan has developed a 3-in-1 powertrain prototype, which modularizes the motor, inverter and reducer, which is planned for use in EVs. A 5-in-1 prototype, which additionally modularizes the generator and increaser, is planned for use in e-POWER vehicles. -

With only one month until the Nissan Ariya undertakes the world's first all-electric driving adventure from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole, the team in charge reveals why this car is the perfect match. Nissan, in partnership with British adventurer, Chris Ramsey and the daring Pole to Pole expedition team will travel over 27,000 kilometers across several regions and continents with predicted temperatures ranging from -30⁰C to 30⁰C in a modified Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE. -

Nissan's modified Ariya e-4ORCE prepares to embark on the world-first electric expedition from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole. Arctic Trucks, a specialist in polar expedition vehicles, has collaborated with Nissan design and engineering teams to prepare the expedition Ariya for conditions that will include ice fields, deep snow, mountain climbs and desert dunes. Modified with a custom rugged exterior fit, the expedition Ariya is complete with raised suspension and flared wheel arches to accommodate large tires and additional body kit. In preparation for protection against some of the world's most extreme conditions, the Ariya will be embarking on its toughest test to date and breaking new ground. -
British-Built Nissan Qashqai Confirmed As UK’s best-Selling New Car Of 2022
The Nissan Qashqai is officially the UK’s favourite car of 2022, and the first British-built model to top the annual sales charts for 24 years. Figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders confirm that the home-grown Qashqai – which was designed in Paddington, engineered in Cranfield and is built in Sunderland – was the nation’s best-selling car of the last 12 months. A total of 42,704 new Qashqais were driven off dealership forecourts across the UK in 2022 and the figure for December alone stood at an impressive 3,506, reported the SMMT. -
