In this episode, which is a part of my series, Martin Scorsese Movies That You Need To Know, we review Goodfellas, which was directed by Martin Scorsese, and adapted from the book Wise Guy by Nicholas Pileggi. Pileggi and Scorsese adapted the screenplay. The movie starred Ray Liotta, Lorraine Bracco, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Paul Sorvino. The cinematographer was Michael Ballhaus and the editor was Thelma Schoonmaker. On top of reviewing the film, we talk about Scorsese's filmography in general, how people often miss the point of Scorsese's Gangster films, and why my guest has been called "a bad feminist" for liking Scorsese's films, plus much more. My guest is Jen Johans, a writer, film critic, and podcaster.
